As our new transportation engineering practice continues to gain traction, Bonton Associates continues to bring talented professionals on board to help the firm and our clients move forward. Our newest team member is Project Manager LaDarien Beene, PE.
LaDarien joins us from the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, where he spent more than seven years as a traffic engineer. He looks forward to the diversity of job duties and challenges in his new role, an emphasis on continuous learning and skills development that’s part of every Bonton career pathway, regardless of function.
The future of our region’s shared transportation system, LaDarien believes, depends on a more considered, integrated approach — one that aligns with the firm’s “complete streets” advocacy. “Bringing the current infrastructure and technology together can help us rebuild and reframe a system that brings accessibility to multiple modes of travel,” he explains. “It’s going to take better planning, more O&D (origin and destination) surveys, and a safe, efficient coexistence between cars and pedestrians. I’m confident Bonton will offer sound solutions with absolute assuredness, just as the water engineering team has done for almost ten years.”
A native of Haynesville, LA, LaDarien earned his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from Southern University. He’s an avid cyclist and is excited to contribute professionally to a future Baton Rouge where cars and bikes and other means of transportation can flourish within the infrastructure. He also enjoys traveling, fishing and hanging out with friends, and as a new father, he’s having plenty of fun entertaining his son, Kooper.
Thanks for bringing your energy and expertise to #teambonton, LaDarien. We’re thrilled to have you with us!
