The typical Bonton Associates client engagement has many moving parts, so it’s essential to actively monitor every aspect while managing project risks. Here at the firm, that responsibility falls to our Director of Project Controls, and we’re fortunate to welcome the expertise and professionalism of Ed Smith to this critical role.
An experienced project control veteran, Ed will help provide Bonton clients and senior management with information on project scheduling, progress, costs, forecast completion and ultimate spending, while focusing on all risks that could compromise our high standard of performance. He’s also enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge by training and teaching others about project control tools and techniques, an attitude that fits right in with our “never stop learning” philosophy.
After only a short time here, Ed remarks, “This is a hardworking, trustworthy team, and they really care about the people they provide services to. Bonton’s use of data and technology is truly helping people in the communities we represent have a better life.”
Ed is a Baton Rouge native earned bachelor’s degrees in both international business and human resources, both from Southeastern Louisiana University. Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting and coaching basketball. He’s also a big fan of our favorite natural resource, with a love of swimming and taking the family to as many water parks as possible.
